About

Castlewood at The Highlands is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 2807 Greystone Commercial Boulevard in Birmingham, Alabama. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Castlewood at The Highlands. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Castlewood at The Highlands.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Castlewood at The Highlands, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged Adolescents, Adults, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Castlewood at The Highlands have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Castlewood at The Highlands. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Castlewood at The Highlands can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Castlewood at The Highlands by visiting thehighlandstc.com now.

I'm leaving 3 stars even though I only want to leave 1. And that is because Dr Shirley was great with my daughter and very nice. With that being said, we will not be going back because of his ridiculously snotty staff. The audiologist there was incredibly rude. When it was my daughter's turn to go back and see her (after waiting 30 extra mins in our room) she wanted to take the toy car she had been playing with. The lady rudely told my child (who just turned 2) that she could not take it out of our room and walked off. Even though her office was literally 2 steps from where we were. I let my daughter take it anyway to avoid a meltdown that would have prevented the Dr from being able to perform any test she was about to do. She told me "it's because the toys tend to walk out the door with the child." Ummm are you suggesting that I'm going to steal some ugly plastic car when my daughter has much nicer toys at home? I was livid and she didn't work with my daughter well and ended up jerking a toy out of her hand before we left. It was all I could do to not lose it on that woman. I wish I could remember her name more than anything! Just because you have a fancy office on a fancy side of town doesn't make you special. The appointment girl Jennifer wasn't all that nice either when I cancelled her procedure for tubes because they made me so uncomfortable. We live in Chelsea and are by no means "poor" but that is exactly how we were treated by this staff!! The audiologist even tried to give me some info on state funded speech therapy! Are you kidding?? We have insurance but thanks anyway! Look elsewhere!

We absolutely love Dr. Shirley. Would not trust any of my four boys with anyone else. He's caring and thorough and explains things to you the way a parent can understand . Not only do I think he's great my boys think he's cool :) His new location has all top notch equipment and his staff is great too. Can't say enough great things about him.
